Emily Deng

BS Symbolic Systems, Minor: International Relations, MS Computer Science 2026

As a Schwarzman Scholar, Emily plans to study the intersection of artificial intelligence, public policy, and social systems. Growing up between San Francisco and Beijing, Emily has seen firsthand how both the United States and China are complex, internally dynamic states. By understanding how they differ culturally, economically, and institutionally, she hopes to better understand each country’s approach to AI development and governance. She is excited to be living in Beijing again, learning from global business leaders and diverse peers to help build a human-centered future.
