Additional UK Awards and Funding
Major UK awards for graduate study are the Rhodes, Marshall, Gates, Churchill, Fulbright and Ellison. However, below we are sharing information about awards that are less well-known, but provide full or partial support for graduate study in the UK. Included in this list are scholarships for international students (e.g. Chevening, GREAT etc.) at Stanford who are not eligible for Marshall, Churchill and Fulbright Scholarship and even Rotary which require U.S. citizenship.
There are also a good number of awards that are offered by individual universities. Some funding may be broadly available, without consideration of academic field, while other funding may be specific to disciplines or departments and even nationalities who may apply. Many of these funding resources necessitate applying to, and being admitted to a program of study. Deadlines vary considerably so you need to start early to think about these awards and confirm application deadlines.
