About the Bridging Scholarship

The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan to assist students with travel and living expenses. The Bridging Scholarship program is sponsored and funded by the US-Japan Bridging Foundation, through contributions from a number of corporations, private foundations, and individual donors.

Amount Awarded

  • Semester scholarship: $2,500 cash stipend.
  • Academic-year scholarship: $4,500 cash stipend. 

Application Process

The Bridging Scholarships – Study Abroad in Japan does not have a campus process. The national deadline is typically in early April for Fall, early November for Spring. We encourage you to begin your application early.
