Funding for master's or professional degree at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Eligibility
- Open to U.S., Canadian and International Applicants
- Must have a bachelor’s degree, or be on track to graduate before August 2025. Must also apply for Fall 2025 admission to an eligible full-time master’s or professional program at McGill University.
About the McCall MacBain Scholarships
The McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill are Canada’s first leadership-driven scholarship for master’s and professional degree studies. They represent an investment in students who are developing expertise in their respective fields, have a track record of taking initiative, and seek to collaborate with others to understand and address important problems and challenges.
McCall MacBain Scholars are selected for their exceptional character, track record of community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.
Amount Awarded
The McCall MacBain Scholarship covers tuition and fees for an eligible master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill and provides a living stipend of $2,000 per month during academic terms.
Application Process
Current students and recent graduates (graduating in 2025 or 2026) need to request a very brief endorsement from an OGS fellowship advisor. Contact us at globalscholarships@stanford.edu to arrange. Endorsements are due by September.

- Final Interviews: March 2026
Applying to McGill Programs
The McCall MacBain Scholarship offer is conditional upon Summer or Fall 2026 admission to an eligible master’s or professional degree program at McGill University. Students must apply separately to McGill for admission. In most cases, they will apply to McGill after applying for the McCall MacBain Scholarships.
Campus Application Deadline
The McCall MacBain Scholarship has a campus process step for the endorsement. Endorsements are due by September.
National Application Deadline
- The national deadline for US and Canadian applicants is September 24, 2025 at 4pm EDT.
- The national deadline for international applicants is August 20, 2025.
- Students must submit their scholarship applications and recommenders must submit their online reference forms by the national date.
