Quad Fellowship
1 year of graduate study to strengthen ties among the next generation of scientists and technologists.
Eligibility
- 18 years old at time of application
- Citizen or permanent resident of Australia, India, Japan or the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field by August 2023
- Excellent undergraduate academic record
- If applicants are currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program, they may apply if they will be enrolled in a qualified academic program during their time as a Fellow (i.e., August 2023 - May 2024)
About the Quad Fellowship
The Quad Fellowship was established in September 2021 by Australia, India, Japan and the United States to strengthen ties among the next generation of scientists and technologists. The Fellowship will sponsor 100 American, Japanese, Australian, and Indian master’s and doctoral students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to study in the United States. Schmidt Futures will administer the fellowship with the help of a non-governmental task-force composed of academic, foreign policy and private sector leaders from each Quad country.
Amount Awarded
$50,000 for tuition, research, fees, books, room and board, and related academic expenses (e.g., registration fees, research-related travel). Additional needs-based funding of up to $25,000 to cover costs related to completing graduate-level studies.
Application Process
The Quad Fellowship does not have a campus process. We encourage you to begin your application early. Prospective Fellows are expected to demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional results in their field, and a desire to use their talents to promote collective good.
